Spring is here, and things are really starting to open up—new music, a WHOLE NEW BAND, an original music showcase, and more! Here’s what’s going on this month:
🎸 MEET THE SOPHIE WEST BAND
The Sophie West Band is the full-band evolution of the original bluesy and funky music I’ve been writing for a while. The blues has always called to me, and you’ve heard blues and soul influences in my original songs since the beginning. But the newer songs I’ve been writing just BEGGED for a full, live band… so, I searched high and low and curated an incredible group of musicians to bring these songs to life!
And if all that isn’t exciting enough, we already have our first couple of shows booked!
May 22 — Roxy on Broadway (Denver)
A great Denver spot and always a fun room to play—we’re splitting the bill with established blues band Reckless & Blue, who I sang with at the International Blues Challenge earlier this year!
May 30 — Bricks on Main (Longmont)
Right on Main Street in Longmont, I always love to sing at The Stage at Bricks. Great sound, great food, lowkey vibes…we’re bringing a full set and plan to keep the dance floor packed for this one!
Would love to see some familiar faces at either (or both) of our first shows!
And don’t worry, I’m still with my jam band West of Fennario too. I’m officially a two-band lady now!
🎤 WESTERNWISH SHOWCASE — APRIL 12
I’ll be hosting the very first WesternWish Second Sundays Showcase this Sunday, April 12!
As the founder of WesternWish Productions, this series is something really close to my heart. It’s all about creating a space for original artists to share their work in a setting where people truly listen and connect.
I’ll be acting as host and MC for the night, introducing an incredible lineup of artists and helping shape the flow of the evening. Every showcase is a little different, but the intention is always the same—community, creativity, and giving original music the spotlight it deserves.
🎶 WEST OF FENNARIO — NEW SINGLE IN THE WORKS
Some exciting news on the jam band front—West of Fennario just recorded a new single!
The band with our producers at The Spot Studios!
We’re currently in the mixing and mastering phase, dialing everything in and making sure it hits exactly right. It’s been such a fun process bringing this one to life, and I’m really excited for you to hear where we’ve taken the sound.
We’ll be sharing more details (and a release date) very soon, so stay tuned 👀
Lastly, I mentioned in last month’s newsletter that I filmed some video in a beautiful clothing shop on Kauai! Here’s the video from that day, featuring a live acoustic version of Outrun My Mind (the opening track from my debut EP). Hope you enjoy the simple acoustic arrangement and the lovely visuals from Lolo on Kauai!
